How to Make a Found Poem

So I learned something really cool: how to make found poems.  First thing you do is pick a piece of writing. For example, you can choose a paragraph in your favorite book. For my explanation, I'm going to use a part from a book called The Cay by Theodore Taylor. This is the part from the book I have chosen:

During our seventh night on the island, it rained. It was one of those tropical storms that comes up swiftly without warning. We were asleep on the palm mats that I'd made, but it awakened us immediately.

So that is the part of the book I'm going to use. The next thing you do is highlight any part of the piece of writing that you like, which means any part that interests you or speaks to you. It could be words that you like. Or it could be a part of speech you like. Here is a visual:

During our seventh night on the island, it rained. It was one of those tropical storms that comes up swiftly without warning. We were asleep on the palm mats that I'd made, but it awakened us immediately.

Now take those parts you highlighted and make a poem out of it. Do it the way that appeals to you. You can repeat a highlighted phrase if you wanted to. And the visual:

It rained
Tropical storms
Comes up swiftly
Without warning

See how cool that is? Now you try it! Instead of highlighting the parts you like, you can also cross out the parts that you don't have interest in.

Changing Subject

Yes. Changing. Changing the subject of this blog. For the third time? I think so.

Basically, I'm going to change the: template, title, URL, EVERYTHING.

I'm sorry. I'm exasperated with myself too.

The new subject? The title will give a clue. Or give it away entirely. Dur.

Surfing: A Fail

My surfing time was ok. Scratch that, it was a total fail. I never actually got to riding a wave. Sure, I stood up, I was in the water. But I could not catch a wave. FAIL. XP

Surfing!

I'M GOING SURFING! I'M GOING SURFING! WEEEEEEEEEEE!

Yay. I drew dat. C:

Always Changing

Creating
Designing
It's so much fun.
You can make
Anything your own.
But...
Anytime
Once I have made
Something the way
I like,
I'll just decide:
I MUST CHANGE IT AGAIN!

Hehe, just a little poem I wrote. It's true, actually. I was satisfied with the blog template, but now I want to change it again. XP
